I am a visual artist and industrial designer whose work is a consequence of the combination of both disciplines. My experience as a product designer is intertwined with my artistic practice and viceversa. This leads me to explore human behavior, its relationship to manufactured products and the impact that has on Earth's climate and ecosystems.
My work shows a strong connection with my cultural legacy as a native of Mexico City. Having left my home country, I reflect on they way in which migrants -like me- live in a liminal state, between two different cultures, contexts and identities, searching for adaptation.
I generate projects and products to share a bit of my culture, in search for a better appreciation towards my culture and people.
My work has been exhibited internationally in multiple museums and galleries. I am currently Adjunct Faculty at San Franscisco State University’s School of Design, while continuing to develop my own creative practice out of Oakland & NY.
I hold a Masters Degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, and a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from CUNY, Queens College.
